Gouache sketches of Cotuit, MA

These sketches were made in an attempt to revisit gouache for the first time since college. I have always romanticized the art of plein air; being influenced by the natural world around you, able to capture memories of places you have physically been present, mastering the quickest way to convey information on a small scale.

Both images were painted in a moleskine sketchbook with really cheap, dried-out jelly gouache.
